Jesus does not promise us lives without trials and trouble. In fact, He guarantees we will face them on this side of Heaven. What He does promise is His presence in the midst of the trials and troubles we face. 

His presence is our hope and peace. The promise of His presence is unfailing, unchanging, and always available to us. It’s the reason we can take heart no matter what we walk through. Take heart knowing that He has overcome the world and He is in control.

 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
